Gitzo presents two completely new Series 2 tripods that bring advanced materials, Gitzo technology, performance and quality to our aluminium tripod range. The innovative tripods follow a completely different approach to the weight issue of aluminium tripods. All other tripod manufacturers try to reduce the weight of their aluminium tripods by reducing the thickness of the aluminium tubes (0,8 – 1 mm). This leads to weak and unstable tripods. Gitzo instead maintains thicker 1,2 mm tubes for additional rigidity and strength, and reduces the weight of other components by employing new technologies. The result is an overall 30% weight reduction without compromising strength and stability.

 After Carbon Fiber, Magnesium, Basalt and 6X, Gitzo carries on pioneering the camera support industry: the newly developed Soulid 238, specifically engineered for our
camera support applications, is a high tech compound using an exclusive mix of techno polymers which give performance indicators that lie between those of metals and composite materials. As strong as magnesium but 30% lighter, with the
same thermal and dimensional stability of composites, Soulid 238 sets a new standard for lightness and compactness.

 Gitzo has launched a new aluminum tube: 30% lighter than its predecessor, 1.2 mm thick and with built in Anti Leg Rotation system (ALR). It features a brushed matt black finish that improves leg locking performance and minimises light reflection. For the cast components, Gitzo uses top quality aluminum
alloys and gravity casting - more expensive than pressure casting, but able to guarantee that components are free from internal air bubbles that could compromise solidity and durability.
